The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Starting The Chiro Studio has been incredibly rewarding, but it has also come with its fair share of challenges. One of the biggest challenges was taking the leap from being an associate chiropractor for seven years to running and building my own practice. Suddenly, I was navigating business ownership, marketing, administration and all the behind-the-scenes work, while providing high level care to my patients.
Other challenges were building a client base from scratch, which meant putting myself out there, introducing The Chiro Studio to the community, building trust one person at a time, finding the right clinic space in Westgate and building strong networks within the local community, so more families could learn about what we offer.
Looking back and seeing where we are today reminds me that the most rewarding things often come from stepping outside your comfort zone.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Establishing The Chiro Studio has been one of the most fulfilling journeys of my career. The biggest pro has been to be able to shape the clinic exactly to how I envision it and making decisions that align with my values. I love building connections with families and seeing the difference we can make.
The flip side is that the responsibility never really stops. As the business owner, you wear all the hats – from practitioner to marketer to problem solver, which can be exciting and exhausting. But for me, the rewards far outweigh the challenges. Every milestone, big or small, and seeing the impact we can make on our patients, is a reminder of why I started The Chiro Studio.

Hopes and dreams: What next?
I’m so excited about the future of The Chiro Studio. My focus is on continuing to grow the business and reach more families in our community, so they can experience the benefits of chiropractic care. I would love to expand into a bigger space, expand our team, offer more availability and bring in other holistic health services that can support families in every stage of life.
Long term, my dream is for The Chiro Studio to become a well-known hub for family health and wellbeing in West Auckland – a place where people feel cared for, educated and empowered to live their healthiest lives.
