When teething struck in their household, Alexandria Jurčić discovered just how tough it can be to watch a little one in discomfort – and how limited the options were for relief. Out of that challenging season came a simple yet clever idea: the Boobcube Silicone Tray and Pop Pack, a solution that gives babies safe, soothing comfort, while offering parents peace of mind. What started as a search for help for her own baby has grown into a mission to support other parents through the ups and downs of early childhood. Here, Alexandria talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the inspiration behind her business, how she balances work and family time, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
When our baby started teething, I couldn’t find anything on the market that would help soothe his sore gums – something that he could suck on for instant relief. So we started a business selling the solution we couldn’t find.
With the dreaded thought of going back to work part time when bubs was only two months old, and full time when he was six months old, I realised it’s not how I envisioned starting a family. With lack of flexibility, I wanted to build a business where we can employ other parents to work as flexibly as they need, to suit their life as parents. As the business grows, this goal will become reality.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
We started researching ways to help bring relief to our teething baby, and while there were some products on the market – we bought them and tested them -bubs hated them. They were too big, too small, hard to hold or just not right. We sourced the perfect product that our son loved and brought it to market for other parents of teething babies

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
It’s hard to find the perfect balance. Working full time, building a business and raising a baby while pregnant with baby number two… it’s hard, but we do what we have to so that we can build a future we can be proud of and a life that allows us to spend time with our family the way we want.
