Running a business from our property means the lines between work and life are always a little blurry – but that’s part of the beauty. The boys are involved in their own ways (sometimes more enthusiastically than others), and my daily rhythm is shaped by both business and family life and work outside the property. Some days I’m in town teaching at one of my local schools; others might see me making soap; and on other days I’m trying to answer emails (if the internet is working!) at the kitchen table while dinner cooks.
I let go of the idea of perfect balance a long time ago. Instead, I try to be content doing what I can with whatever time I have on any given day.

Of course, it hasn’t all been smooth. Starting a business with three small children and no background in skincare or retail meant I had to teach myself everything – product formulation, safety standards, branding and how to actually run a business. There were times I felt completely out of my depth (and honestly, still do!). But the messages from other mums who say, “This helped my baby’s skin”, or “I finally found something I feel good using every day”, remind me that it’s worth it. Those are the moments that keep me going.
Running my own business means freedom – to do things my way, to grow slowly and with integrity, and to prioritise my family while still creating something meaningful. But it also means I carry it all: the late nights, the packing, the tech issues, the admin. There’s no big team. It’s just me.

Still, I wouldn’t trade it. There’s something incredibly grounding about knowing that everything I send out into the world has come through my hands, my home and my heart.
As for what’s next – I want to keep doing what I’m doing, just a little more widely. I’d love to grow my range slowly, staying true to the values that started all this: simplicity, honesty and care. But for now, I’ll keep showing up with a heart full of gratitude for this unexpected, beautiful path I’ve found myself on.
