Thrive – Mind, Body & Soul – Health and Empowerment Coaching for Mothers

The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?

The most significant breakthrough for me has been receiving feedback and heartfelt discussions with other mothers experiencing the same struggles.  Hearing their relief, their sense of ‘wow, I’m not alone’, was and is very heartwarming and inspires me to keep doing what I am doing. My role is to support busy mothers so they can live happy and healthy lives while mothering with more presence, balance and joy.

It makes me very, very happy and each time I work with a mother and support and guide her to find her own inner strength, her own power and inner qualities, the more I feel that I am fulfilling my purpose in this life.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

My husband and I have spent the last eight years trying to find our balance.  Myself, as a full-time teacher, studying and doing the main caregiving role for three young children. And him, being self-employed with a thriving painting business and two employees. And honestly, it’s not easy.  Some weeks, months feels like we are on autopilot, racing from place to place, without a single pit stop. Other weeks, feel slow and calm and organised. I think for us, we are always going with the ebb and flow of life with young children and careers while trying not to sweat the small stuff. But, at the same time, we ensure that we are discussing what we want for our family, our’ family vision’ so that we are living with intention and purpose and not merely by default. I will be on maternity leave when this is published, so I will be feeling a lot more balance being at home and having my role as a mother be the core focus of my days. I am looking forward to it.

The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Fear.  Self-doubt. And the naysayers. For me, my fear of the unknown has been a considerable challenge to overcome. Having had a healthy, regular income for the past 14 years has been amazing, and I haven’t thought once about what I will get paid or where my money will come from. Stepping outside of this comfort zone to pursue my dream of supporting mothers AND earning a living to support my own family and our goals, has taken a lot of courage. I have had to face my self-doubt head-on and dig deep and search for my inner strength, belief and power so that I can limit the fear and self-doubt. I have had to take my own medicine, coaching myself to reach higher levels of self-belief, self-confidence and self-determination, where anything is possible!

As a mother, I have had and overcome many challenges. Becoming a first-time mum was one of the hardest times of my life. The change from one to two went well, and then the third came along. This is when my husband and I went through a rough time, and both ended up on depression/anxiety medication and in marriage counselling. But, we chose to commit to our family and us and put many things into place that have continued to support us until this day, four years later and a very new fourth child. And although we still have rough ‘patches’, we know that we love each other and that our ultimate goal is to make us work.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

I am in the very early days of running a new business, so it is a bit tricky to answer this question. But, starting and growing my own business has had some pros and cons.

So far, a few of the pros have been:

  • The immense sense of joy and passion that this work is giving me.
  • The connections I have made with so many beautiful mothers already.
  • The personal growth as a mother that I have experienced by guiding others on their journey.
  • The deeper and more present and loving connections I am creating with my children and husband daily because of this focus and the positive side effects of leading a healthier and happier life are invaluable to my overall sense of well being.

The main con for me at this point is finding enough mothers to guide and serve while creating a regular income to allow me to pursue this passion full-time and to support my family financially at the same time.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

I hope that running my own successful business will provide me with a few essential lifestyle changes, like the chance to help other mothers transform their lives so that they can experience more presence, balance and joy as a mother while leading their healthiest and happiest lives. I hope that it will provide me with more time at home with my tribe of four so that I can eventually work from a laptop from anywhere in the world while reducing my husband’s workload ultimately as well. It’s so that we can all THRIVE in mind, body & soul, living life with presence, passion and purpose.

My ultimate dream for THRIVE, Mind, Body & Soul is to create a ripple effect through magnificent mothers across the globe, so they can mother from the heart, be more present, live with more balance, experience more  joy and lead themselves and their loved ones into a healthy and happy life, full of abundance and gratitude.

I have a lot of ideas for the future and know that my ultimate dream will happen.  I am passionate about the fact that my services are needed now more than ever and I will be working very hard to make them a reality for mothers around the world, and ultimately for myself and my precious family.
