Brydie Dean was inspired to create a range of vibrational medicines that are a holistic, gentle and safe form of energetic and emotional therapy. They assist with restructuring and balancing your energy, as well as influencing emotions for positive change. At Flora Frequency, she offers a range of remedies and custom blends to heal mind, body and spirit. Here she talks about her business journey so far and her exciting plans for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
I first read about flower remedies in a book called ‘Radical Healing’ by Rudolph Ballantyne. The moment I read the first page on them, something went off inside of me! Like a lightening bolt in my tummy, like a knowing that this was my purpose, that I would make them one day. I had recently had my son so life got in the way for a while, until one night, my friend who had passed away a year before, came to me in a dream and walked me through a garden and showed me all of the flower essences I needed and why. I woke up in the morning and researched what he said and he was completely right. It was so profound and so beautiful! After that, it wasn’t long before I started making them and here we are! Many, many divine dreams later.
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
I started out making them for a long time before they became a business or available to purchase. It’s not my only business but probably the most well and long thought out one, that’s for sure! It wasn’t until there were over 100 remedies made that Flora Frequency became a business and I’m really glad it went that way. There was so much learning to be had and I had time to integrate my gifts with the flowers and all of the dreams and information I was given about the flowers and what they are really here for. I have now had many many dreams where the flowers speak to me and tell me what they are for energetically as flower remedies – it’s incredible. I guess it took a while to kickstart the business fully, but I’m grateful it went the way it did!
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
The biggest breakthrough was definitely using the remedies myself and healing my old beliefs and negative thought processes that were holding me back from being as successful as I wanted or desired to be. I had adopted some pretty negative beliefs about money and work from my upbringing, but once I finally let go of those, using the energy of the flowers to heal my thoughts and my energy centres, I was able to get on the right track, feeling empowered and deserving and confident to go get what I want. I think when you get deep into business, you realise that the only thing stopping you from being successful is yourself! Your own beliefs, conscious and subconscious, and what your energy is attracting back to itself being the biggest! Once you’ve mastered those, there’s really nothing standing in the way! Nothing big enough to stop you anyway if you’re doing what you’re meant to be!
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Still working on this one! I think I need a nanny! Haha and an assistant for each business! Truly. It’s a juggle and a half. I am a single mum to one bright, bouncy boy and he certainly is my most magical creation, but I do love working and I find it really hard to separate the two. I don’t know if it’s possible at this stage because both need so much of my attention, but I’m getting a lot better. I have definitely had the busiest 4 years of my life and am looking forward to outsourcing more in 2021 so that I can be more present for my son before he starts school. However, I’m really glad for all of the hard work I did put into my businesses because it’s paying off so that I eventually will be able to spend more time with my son. It’s a catch 22 and each person needs to do what suits them!
