The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
In a space that can be very competitive, I have learned to show up first and foremost – for myself and for those who attend my classes, to reflect on what I share and offer. I have learned to show up authentically with the mother in mind. To teach without influence and avoid glamourising numbers. To make a small and meaningful impact.
I decided human connection was a priority over filling my classes and getting caught up in the race. So I focus on small groups and one-to-one sessions. Using my studies in yogic philosophy, I aim to live the real yoga and to renounce the fruit of my actions. Through intimate classes, I’ve been able to celebrate the quality of time that a small class brings and journey with mothers in an important and authentic way.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
It can be lonely at times. I definitely found it challenging to relocate and build my business from scratch in a competitive industry. But by integrating the teachings of yoga into my life, I have naturally aligned with – and been blessed to meet – some wonderful souls along the way. We’re now in the process of creating some beautiful collaborations to support mothers. It’s reminded me of the importance of showing up with vulnerability, flexibility and honesty. Women supporting women.
The huge upside is that I am doing what I love. I feel incredibly grateful to walk alongside mothers as they cross the threshold into motherhood and beyond whilst supporting them and learning from them. Learning lessons from others helps me to be the best parent I can be – and to be kind to myself. Has anyone really figured it out?

I’m also excited to be collaborating on a special project with Sarah Russon of Restorative Touch Massage for pregnant women – a sacred space to prepare for and honour the transition a woman undergoes in becoming a Mother. It is series of 4 classes dedicated to empowering women and their birth partners through bodywork and yoga.
Looking ahead, I also plan on introducing a Saturday morning pregnancy and postpartum class in Shropshire very soon. Stay tuned!
