Beyond the Faerie Tree offers the most enchanting birthday parties, professional face painting and event entertainment, for an experience filled with magic and treasures! Snowdrop, Rainbowlily and friends look forward to sharing lots of laughter and sparkle – and many opportunities to connect with the magic and light of the faerie realm! They love to share their enchanting stories, contagious giggles and their sparkling face painting with your little ones, touching the hearts of families as they go. Here Snowdrop talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the passion behind what she does, how she balances faerie and family life, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
‘Beyond the Faerie Tree’ has been a journey and adventure all of its own. It all began when I (Snowdrop) met a faerie friend at a music festival. She shared with me the joy and wonder of children’s parties; where imagination, sparkle, smiles and enchanting moments where what we were able to create for the children we visited.
Along the journey, I (Snowdrop) went into partnership with Rainbowlily before taking on full-time sole ownership at ‘Beyond the Faerie Tree’ in April 2023.
I am so pleased to be able to continue this work. We are so grateful every time we are invited to share a special birthday party with a child. We know that although we might have visited hundreds of parties over the years, each child is having a once in a lifetime experience and that these memories are cherished for years to come.
The idea is to create a space where children could immerse themselves in a world of wonder, where every face painting stroke and story told would be a gateway to a realm beyond their own. From this magical cocoon, we spread our wings to offer faerie birthday parties and professional face painting.
The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
Snowdrop’s first faerie visit was alongside the guidance of Rainbowlily (who had been visiting parties and getting growing magic for some years).
‘Beyond the Faerie Tree’ continues its magical parties under the new ownership of Snowdrop, and with 8 years of experience, I enjoy every trip from my home, “Water Lily Pond”, to your home just as much as the first.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
The balance between work and family is particularly difficult in this first year of starting a family of my own. I structure my days so that I can do faerie admin in the evenings, and am sure to book my parties in strategically, to leave myself some weekend time for family too. I am SO very lucky to have my faerie daughter with me during the work week at a very flexible employment. This ensures that Snowdrop and her friends have time and space to bring magic to events while also cherishing moments with their own families. It’s a delicate balance, but one that’s rooted in the belief that nurturing one’s own family is an essential part of creating magical experiences for others.
