The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
The spiritual and holistic space has a perception problem. There’s still a stigma that it’s ‘out there’, or only for a certain kind of person, or that it’s at odds with modern life and medicine. We’re here to challenge all of that.
We want breathwork and reiki and sound healing to feel as normal and non-negotiable as your morning coffee.
And look, building a tech startup as women in Aotearoa has its own particular flavour of tough. Think smaller funding landscape and fewer people who’ve done it before you. But we’re not here to do what’s been done already. We’re to fill a real gap, for real people, in a way that actually works.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Argh – the biggest cons for us would be the legal and technical compliance side of things – it’s a full-time job by itself and a part of business that doesn’t light any of us up haha.
In the tech world, money disappears faster than you’d like. We knew that going in, but knowing it and living it are two very different things!
And building brand awareness online from Aotearoa (where the market is smaller and the algorithms don’t seem to be working in our favour) is slow going.
But the connections make all of it worth it! The practitioners who’ve finally found a platform that takes their work seriously is everything we hoped for. And hearing from Seekers who’ve found someone that’s helped them through something genuinely hard is pure magic. Every time we hear from someone on either side of that exchange, it reminds us exactly why we built this.

Hopes and dreams: What next?
We’re currently live now across Aotearoa and Australia, with global expansion planned throughout 2026 and 2027. The big picture vision is a platform that becomes the trusted home for spiritual and holistic wellness worldwide – a place where practitioners are properly found and Seekers actually feel safe.
Next up there are new portal features rolling out, a Seea App is in the pipeline and we’ll be looking for some right-fit sponsorship partners and investors who understand that backing Seea means backing something that genuinely changes people’s lives.
We started with a dodgy palm reader in Bali, but we’re not stopping until the whole world can find someone they trust.
Visit seea.co to find out more, and connect with them on Instagram and Facebook.
