Guiding Women to Wellness & Inner Peace

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Oh, so many. I began building EFW in my mind around 6 years ago. It wasn’t until I was at home with a newborn that I decided to put the plan into action. Then COVID hit and we were relying solely on Ben’s income to support us. He has worked very hard in his own career to be able to take care of our family and this had a really positive affect on our relationship and lifestyle. Mainly because I was able to step into my passion wholeheartedly, which made my life fall nicely into alignment. It was very challenging but we believed in the mission behind EFW. I tried to get back into the workforce, but it really didn’t feel right. Ben could see how passionate I was/am, so we agreed that it was time to pour my energy into EFW. Looking back, it was the best risky decision we have made.

The other challenge was figuring out how to show up for my audience. I struggled with where to be professional and where to be myself. Then I realised that I am already a qualified professional, so when I am showing my life through an authentic lense, that’s the best thing I can do to meet the women who are ready for this work!

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The pros are that I can see the impact that EFW has on other women and it confirms that all of the hard work we have done to get here is really worth it!

I also decide when I work. I don’t believe in hustle and grind culture and my business blooms when I stick to my boundaries. If I am feeling overwhelmed or anxious, I take that time to be with my family, be in nature or read a good book. I don’t like pouring that energy into EFW and it’s not necessary to grind in order to live the life you really want.

The cons are that it can be so lonely, which is why I make sure to message all my close friends every week! I also get out to as many social events as possible. Usually a few times a month.

The first year is really hard and involves a lot of constant problem solving and pivoting – which is not a con, but it is tough!

Hopes and dreams: What next?

How many secrets do I share? Haha!

We have some really big things happening towards the end of this year. I don’t want to give too much away, but this is something that the majority of women are going to be able to have access to, regardless of location, finances and gym memberships, and provides guidance on topics like:

  • Resetting your digestive system to promote mental wellbeing and nourish the gut microbiome
  • Creating healthy eating habits that support healing your relationship with food
  • Adopting positive lifestyle behaviours that encourage real change and transformation
  • Setting realistic and achievable health goals to enjoy your unique health journey
  • Incorporating Yin and Yang movement for longevity, better digestion and inner peace.
