Motherhood became more than a life-changing experience for Amanda Law; it became the catalyst for a new purpose. Inspired by her own journey through matrescence, parenting neurodivergence and personal transformation, she founded Big Heart Mind Learning to create the kind of village she once longed for. Today, through The Mothers Circle, she is helping mothers cultivate self-compassion, emotional resilience and meaningful connection – and feel held, seen and supported. Here, she talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the inspiration behind her work, her biggest breakthrough, the challenges she has overcome along the way, and her hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
Big Heart Mind Learning grew from the raw, transformative experience of early motherhood. As a mother to both a neurodiverse and a neurotypical child, and formerly partnered with a neurodiverse husband, I experienced both profound love and deep isolation – first while living in remote Western Australia, and later after moving to Perth without the village of support I had hoped for.
Matrescence didn’t simply change me; it reshaped how I saw myself and the world. Through yoga, mindfulness and self-compassion, I learned to “massage my life” with presence, awareness and grace. From that journey, The Mothers Circle was born – a sanctuary where mothers can feel held, seen and supported as they reconnect with their own inner wisdom.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
It all began with small, heartfelt circles in my local area – just a few mothers, their babies, some yoga mats and gentle guidance through mindfulness and massage. I brought my training in yoga, mindfulness and emotional intelligence together with real-life mothering experience.
Word-of-mouth grew organically as mothers felt seen, supported and transformed. From there, I developed our signature course, The Mothers Circle, and began sharing it more widely through workshops and now an online platform.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
The biggest breakthrough came when I integrated my Relational Mindfulness method – an approach that blends ancient yogic wisdom with modern neuroscience and emotional intelligence – into every offering. It shifted The Mothers Circle from a wellbeing class to a deeply transformative journey.
When I saw mothers begin to not only care for their babies, but reawaken to their own inner wisdom and emotional resilience, that’s when I knew this work had lasting ripple effects.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
It’s an ever-evolving dance. I work in seasons and cycles, just like motherhood. Some days it’s surf and savasana; other days it’s spreadsheets and school pickups. I’ve built my business around my family’s needs, not in spite of them.
Honouring time-blocking, micro-tasking and sacred pauses has helped me stay present to both my children and my purpose. It’s not perfect, but it’s intentional – and I try to live what I teach.
