Each and every day we may believe we need to cleanse, tone and moisturise before putting on a foundation and then make-up to greet the day and be a beautiful woman.
How would I find the time to look after myself this way and my newborn child? It used to take me an hour to get ready if I wanted to look amazing. I just didn’t have that time anymore, and I was starting to not feel like myself. This baby business required so much time and energy, even using the bathroom for a 10-minute shower was pushing it! I was struggling to find time to slap some moisturiser on my face.
Life as a mum is busy. Sometimes I wonder why human females only got two hands and two arms, when octopuses got eight. Sometimes I feel like I could do with those eight arms to fulfill all the jobs and requests that file at me from the moment I wake up, to the delightful moment when my children finally fall fast asleep.
When I look after myself properly and make an effort to make myself feel good by taking good care of my body, mind and spirit and my home environment, I instantly boost my ability to be a present and loving mum and streamline time and energy efficiently.
What if we could apply a product which took out those four steps, that was good for our skin, protected us from the elements and made us look shinny and sparkly all in one?
Finding Goodbye OUCH for me was the one stop shop I was looking for. It came with a HUGE list of ways I could use it and things that had been tested and tried on and I didn’t need a science degree to decipher the ingredients list.
I use it as a day cream, night cream, lip balm, moisturiser, under foundation and lip liner.
It works well on my eyebrows and eyelashes keeping them in shape and wet looking, and when I am feeling a little stressed or worn out I massage the balm into my temples and the smell of the essential oils helps take my stress away.
I use it as an all-over body balm, for tired dried out skin, to massage aches and pains and to heal any little cuts and blisters and protect open wounds from becoming infected. And the best thing about it is my kids love it too! They ask for it when they have an ‘ouchie’ and they know where to find it in my handbag, and it’s easy enough for them to help themselves and apply it on their own skin.
Its made from 100% natural ingredients which means I do not have to worry about them ingesting it and putting chemicals or petroleum-based products on their skin.
At some point I started realising that I trusted this balm over other balms, which although purposeful, didn’t expand my knowledge or imagination of how they could be used in life. I have found one single product can effectively be used in different ways and give assistance to many different problems.
Having many different products cluttering up our home space increases spending and consumption and makes us feel we need to use these products because we bought them, whether they are good for us or not.
By removing stuff and making space, I have found I can focus better on being present to my day and the job right in front of me, and not drowning in a sea of clutter and visual distraction.
Sooner or later my bathroom cabinet started to look a lot emptier, my morning beauty regime got a little bit easier and my life got a little bit smoother, especially in the mornings.
