Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
With the support of my family, I am able to do the things that I do and raise our three children at the same time. It is difficult to maintain the balance all of the time, however my family will always come first.
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
When running a business, lots and lots of patience is needed, especially if the goods are coming from overseas. Due to the pandemic and other factors, there were some of our shipments that got delayed, but that’s okay – they all arrived eventually. During that time though, my anxiety levels were high as I was worried they had got lost somewhere.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros would be: being able to manage the business around my family’s time and be as creative as I can to run the business smoothly. The only con that I can think of is when I don’t have time to focus on the business because of all the other things that I need to do in my other roles. Being a small business means that the business is totally reliant on me for it to thrive.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
My dream is to be able to focus on my business and make more capacity for it to grow.
