Organic & Ethical: Designed for Babies by Parents

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Being your own boss in an industry you are passionate about is the dream, but life still has its challenges to throw at you!

I gave birth to my second son at the beginning of April, which was a surprise as he was born at 34 weeks. I was also extremely ill the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy, so running the business and also having a 19-month-old toddler was one of the most difficult times for me.

But I had my husband with me for support and even though we have been through a lot the past few months, we learnt to juggle, prioritise and compromise, which are all very valuable and appropriate lessons to learn when you have 2 kids under 2!

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

Having your own business is also a big personal risk to take. You don’t get a pay cheque every month, there is a lot more accountability and your success is your responsibility. But, you are your own boss and that risk is so rewarding when you are doing what you are truly passionate about.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

My hope is to create an online space that parents can really trust. I want Tutyi & Sisu to come to mind when parents are recommending great products to their friends and family.

I want our customers to know that we are also parents and we have tried and tested all our products on our children. So we are not just trying to sell; we are offering beautiful and practical products that are curated by us as parents.

Head to the Tutyi & Sisu website to view their beautiful range of products, and follow their journey on Facebook and Instagram.
