Screen Time: Allowing Television in the House After Years Without

Everything changes and that is the gift of life; it’s how we deal with the change that counts. Some changes are easy and some are not, but agreeing to go on the parenting-from-the-heart journey, it is extremely visible.

For as heart-centred parents you can feel when a change is about to come, you sense it before it finally raises its visible head. How? The bond you have means you can. It also means because you are an aware parent you respect it and go with it for the good of your child.

It can mean letting go of an image you have of your child, perhaps locked at a much loved age so you can see and respond to the child in front of you. It can mean you are going into a phase where boundary setting needs to take more time in your relationship, as your child requires it. So as they go out into the world, they go out with the very skills you are showing them.

The first relationship we have is with our parents. So make this a loving, giving one for your child. One where we as parents face the all powerful love link but also the gift of learning how to regularly ‘let go’. So our children can grow and our relationships with them continues to evolve.
