The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
This has been a huge learning curve for me. Taking over a small business is a challenge and when that happened only a few months after having my first baby, it meant I had to adapt to a new way of life.
The biggest challenge has been learning the art of social media and how to navigate the demands it requires. I have been so fortunate to have support from other small businesses that have been helping me create a better presence online. I love all these small mumma-based businesses helping each other grow.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
With a full-time job, plus studying and being a first-time mum, along with a home business, it’s hard, but you make it work. The business is my focus at night when baby is asleep. The great thing about your own business is you are totally responsible for how successful it will be. The more you put in, the more you get back.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I have so many ideas of how to grow the business and expand into other complimentary areas, but primarily I want Launder & Love to be a go-to for nursery bedding as a gift for a new mumma or for mums buying for themselves.
