The Drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Apart from the photoshoot with toddlers? Time and budget are the biggest challenges. I have endless ideas in my head but had to start somewhere, with a smaller collection. I will invest in new designs and garments once the current lines are selling well enough for me to make such decision without compromising our personal savings.
On a personal side, now that we are parents of two cheeky two-year-olds, we have made few changes in our lives to get away from the race and be able to be more present and have time for the boys. Raising them to become happy, confident, empathetic people is our greatest priority and focus.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Cons include the financial risk and lack of steady income, especially being a just-launched brand. But pros are way more. I spent over a decade in corporations, managing brands internationally, working to fulfill someone else’s dreams and financial goals, selling products I don’t necessarily believe in… It all gave me great experience of course and helped to shape my current self. But I knew already for many years that my ultimate goal was to have my own business, be independent and most importantly follow my heart, passion and personal values, believes and ethics.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
The future for CosyAussie is bright. People become more aware of importance of organic cotton, both from an environmental perspective but most importantly about its advantages for the delicate baby skin. Our garments are beautifully designed, of great quality, certified organic. CosyAussie is our labour of love for what’s healthy and best for the kids, for environment and for nature. Plus we are both very hard working so the success is only a matter of time.
Everyone whom we showed the product, who touched the product, is amazed and that’s also very reassuring.
