When life pulls you in every direction, and finding a moment for yourself feels impossible, at Rizai’s they encourage you to take your time – choose your perfect fragrance and let the journey to relaxation begin. Rizai’s is a family-run well-being brand rooted in the belief that life’s simplest moments often hold the most meaning. They create hand-poured candles, curated self-care boxes and signature candle care kits all designed to help you slow down, reconnect and honour your time. Here, Zahra Awani talks to The Natural Parent Magazine about the passion behind the business, their biggest breakthrough, how they balance work and family life, and their hopes and dreams for the future.
The passion: What inspired you to set up your business?
The idea for Rizai’s was born during a personal season of loss and reflection, following the passing of my brother. In seeking moments of stillness and peace for myself, I found the power of ritual lighting a candle, taking a breath, creating space. Rizai’s is my way of extending that moment to others: a gentle invitation to pause, feel grounded and reconnect with what matters.
Our scents are stories, our packaging is purposeful and everything we create is made to help you carve out space for calm in a busy world. From our thoughtful blends to timeless design, every detail is considered because we believe well-being should feel as good as it looks.
We’re proud to be growing our community through pop-ups across London, and we’re excited to launch our Christmas candle collection this September, a celebration of warmth, comfort and connection.
At Rizai’s, it’s not just about self-care; it’s about coming home to yourself one quiet ritual at a time.
It’s your time.

The launch: How did you start out in the beginning?
We started with one candle hand-poured after months of testing scents, wax blends and jars. Our first Ritual Boxes were lovingly packed late at night and delivered by hand to friends, family and local supporters. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and our vision grew from there. From the very beginning, we’ve focused on quality, community and storytelling, whether through markets, local partnerships or online.
The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?
Our biggest breakthrough came when we realised we weren’t just selling candles or gifts. We were offering something deeper: a ritual, a pause, a sense of permission. That realisation helped shape our signature Ritual Boxes and inspired our product line to evolve around intentional living and moments of care. We’ll soon be exploring how we can design them not just for the individual, but for shared connection, between partners, parents and children, friends and communities.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
We’re only human, so we don’t always get the balance right, but we try to honour our values. This means recognising when to pause and when to go all in. We work around nap times, school runs and dinner time, but the majority gets done after bedtime. This means a lot of late nights, but pouring into something you love is so rewarding. We’ve learned to embrace the mess and magic of building something meaningful as a family and to ask for help when we need it.
