Choosing Wood Over Plastic: Eco-Friendly Toys for Hire & Sale

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

At present, the scales are tipped towards family as I still have my youngest son at home. Mr Kipp and Little Jimmy has been more like a hobby for me: a way to have a creative outlet whilst being a stay-at-home mum. When I have all three sons at school, I will be able to put more energy and focus towards the business. This has always been my plan.

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

It was shortly after I got married that I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This was a big driver for me, fuelling my passion to live a more natural lifestyle and I also needed the flexibility to have days off when I need them. Lowering my stress levels is important for me, so there’s no staying up late at night working on the business. It’s more like fit half an hour in here and there!

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

Being my own boss and having the freedom to work the hours and days I want is a big plus! The downside would be the constant thinking about the business after hours, before you go to sleep, in the shower and when you wake up! Being responsible for everything is fun, because you learn so much, but also can be daunting!

Hopes and dreams: What next?

Next year my littlest is starting school, so that will free me up to spend more time working on the business – so who knows what the future will hold… watch this space!
