The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Covid has been a big challenge for Milestones & Mayhem. At the height of the pandemic, homeschooling brought its challenges with a workplace also onsite, issues with timber supply shortages and deliveries also proving problematic. As a business, we continue to ride out the storm, determined to come out the other end stronger, wiser, and more customer focused, knowing we are all on this journey together.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The biggest pro for me is knowing I get to live out my passion, creating products and resources that ensure our future generations have had the learning foundations and building blocks they needed to succeed.
In terms of cons, running a business as a sole trader can sometimes get a bit overwhelming, and making sure you have the right supports in place is crucial. I feel having a business coach and being part of an online community that supports us as female entrepreneurs has played an important role in growing as a business owner.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I am currently working with a leading Speech Therapist developing an exciting new resource. I’m thrilled to be able to bring this to our customers and continue to support our community by providing engaged learning experiences and nurturing children’s education.
