The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
The biggest challenge to overcome was believing that running a business was something that I could do. Before running a business, I had worked many jobs for many different companies. That was what I knew for a good few years and to come away from that and start working on my own business meant being uncomfortable with being a complete novice and not knowing all of the answers or even where to go for the answers. There are always challenges to overcome in the running of a business – I am shown that at least a few times a week, but each time I face a hurdle, big or small, I notice myself becoming more confident and less uncomfortable in high pressure situations.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The pros of having my own business are having full control over my time. This feels like a big privilege, especially since becoming a mum. I also love being able to offer amazing skincare products that I am so proud of and that make people feel great in their skin. Knowing that I can use my Bonded Body Butter on my son’s skin and not worry about any harmful or toxic ingredients is a simple pleasure that I revel in.
The not-so-fun parts of running a business for me are social media and marketing. Even though I know my products are great, trying to think of a million different ways to get everyone else on board can be a big ask at times!

Hopes and dreams: What next?
We have a big exciting brand campaign coming up: a beautiful story that celebrates the cultural traditions of bodycare. It was shot by a local Manchester production company called Epihiny and it really is the first of its kind. My hope is that it reaches Earthies far and wide and resonates so deeply.
My dream for Earthie is more organic growth, expansion and recognition. I’d love to see Earthie stocked in many local independent shops across the UK!
Visit the Earthie Organics website to find out more, and connect with them on Facebook and Instagram.
