The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Covid has been a game changer. I’ve had to look at new ways to import, as air mail is nonexistent or ridiculously expensive. Constantly changing algorithms on social media is incredibly challenging too. When I first started, I’d put a post on my business page and sell out within minutes and have hundreds of interactions. That is no longer the case, so I need to get creative.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
The cons would be trying to switch off. My business is always on my mind. I do a lot of reading and research at night and have to force myself to put it away.
The positives far outweigh the negatives. I can work whenever I want. When my grandchildren have an assembly or sports carnival at school, I can attend. I can take my kids to their appointments without worrying about getting time off. When my kids are sick, I get to be with them. The best part is I work from home so I don’t have to wear a mask all day.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I have a new nappy design with a very special meaning that I hope to launch in the next few months. It will be factory made with many amazing features and one of a kind. I’m really excited by this one and what’s better, my 16-year-old autistic daughter is helping me with the fabric design
