Powerful Words You Can Wear

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

I had to work on myself and my mindset a lot. I was at a stage in my life when I realised that the strong power of limiting beliefs on our mindset can affect the way we live and feel. Deciding to work for myself, to work because I wanted to, to work even if I had two young kids and I could have had the ‘luxury’ not to, was difficult at the beginning because of our cultural and social background often telling me a different story.

Once the choice was made and I started diving deep into my passion, my ‘why’ has always been the stronger motivator to keep me going.

Of course, practical challenges can occur on the path of an entrepreneur, but they will appear in every stage of your growth no matter what. Smooth success doesn’t exist, but that is the beauty of the entrepreneurial journey: an adventure to enjoy from each possible angle.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The flexibility in terms of timing and space, in the opportunity to balance your private and professional life, are very valuable elements of running your own business and that I couldn’t live without anymore.

On the other hand, it can be lonely sometimes. Sometimes we get lost in our head and it isn’t always the best space to be in. Imposter syndrome and procrastination are frequent visitors in the life of an entrepreneur no matter what level of success you are at.

This is one of the reasons I put myself out there again and I accepted the editorial roles I was offered in two different publishing scenarios. To have colleagues to talk to and a common project to share is really inspiring.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

Surely my first task is to strengthen what I already achieved while working on new projects and adventures. I feel that we need to find motivation and that spark of magic every day in order to become and stay successful. The day you think you got to your destination needs to be only the starting point of your next journey.

Soon I will start a collaboration that will involve me tying knots with my country, supporting and encouraging amazing women in Napoli, Italy, my hometown.

My ‘secret’ wish is to write a book and now more than ever, this dream is ready to come to life.

After making stronger relationships with European stockists, it would be time to expand over the borders of the UK and Europe and start exploring further destinations.

At the same time, being multi-passionate, I always have several projects running. I recently gave a spark of freshness to my podcast, ‘Empowering Voices’; I started collaborating as a content writer for Italian and English companies, while I have recently been appointed Chief Editor for an online magazine and for the book and magazine of a charity here in London.
