Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
We don’t have a lot of family living in Auckland, but my husband is a huge support, and hangs out a lot with Franklin when I need to get things done. Franklin is also very lucky to have an aunty (my sister) who lives right around the corner and is amazing with him (she’s like a second mum to him!) and he absolutely adores her.
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
To be honest, the biggest challenge for me has been starting the business. After that it was just a lot of figuring things out on the go and asking for help when needed. There have been times I’ve questioned starting a new business at this time, but I’m sure that’s a normal part of every business!
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
Having a young family, sometimes finding as much time as I would like to put into the business can be hard. However, the chance to run a business from home is a big pro in itself as I’m able to stay home with Franklin, which I love.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
My plan is to just slowly grow Frankly as a business whilst introducing another member to our family later in the year. 2021 is going to be a busy year!
