Transforming Birth Through Informed, Empowered Support

The drive: What challenges have you had to overcome?

The biggest challenge? Helping parents see that support isn’t just about having someone in the room. The real power comes before birth, through continuity of care with someone who understands your story, your values and how your previous experiences shape this one.

When you work with someone you trust, transformation happens early. Fear softens. Confidence grows. You learn how to navigate the maternity system on your terms – before labour begins – so you feel prepared, informed and in control.

Another challenge is helping parents to see that they can balance autonomy with safety. You can make informed choices and have a different experience without rejecting medical care. You can listen, question and advocate – and still feel safe. You can experience birth differently.

The result? Parents go into birth calmer, steadier and ready to trust themselves. That’s where the real magic of virtual support happens.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

The pro? Oh, the pro is everything. We’ve turned our passion into our career. This isn’t just a job; it’s a calling. Walking alongside families during one of the most transformative times of their lives, helping them feel seen, supported and empowered, and actually seeing the difference we make… it’s the kind of work that lights you up from the inside out.

The “con”? Well… you quickly realise that running your own business means doing it all. Service provider, HR manager, social media guru, PR officer, accountant… basically, you become a one-person powerhouse (or in our case, a dynamic duo)! Any parent running their own venture will know what we’re talking about.

Hopes and dreams: What’s next?

We know our model of birth preparation and support works. We’ve seen the transformations parents experience when they feel informed, empowered and truly supported. Our dream now is to reach even more families, to make this kind of support accessible on a wider scale, and ultimately to contribute to a bigger change in maternity services. Imagine a future where parents consistently receive sound, unbiased medical advice, where their choices are respected and where safety and autonomy go hand in hand – a world where our work might not even need to exist because the system truly supports every parent.

And, on a slightly more personal note… we’re also quietly hoping for a world where our children finally sleep through the night. Because even while we’re dreaming big, a little peace at home wouldn’t go amiss!
