All-Natural, Gentle Hair & Body Products for the Whole Family

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

We started off small, making things for our friends and family, which became a challenge when suddenly the demand was bigger than we anticipated and we outgrew our small space. We have since set up a separate studio, which is now the HQ of Cut the Crap

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

Pros: The sense of achievement and empowerment that we are making a difference in people’s lives. We also attend local markets where we meet new and regular customers and thrive on hearing their positive experiences with our products. We love being the front of our business, as we interact directly with our customers. Cut the Crap revolves around our lives. It fits in with family time, summer camping trips and the odd wine or two with friends.

Cons: Not growing up in a social media world, we struggled to build our online presence. Since then, we have teamed with Jenna from Remotely Virtual, who has become our content creator of all our online platforms.

Hopes and dreams: What next?

We hope to, in the future, be able to solely work in and on our own business full time. We want to build on the range of products, which includes our baby healing barrier balm, expand to be available in more retail stores and attend events around the South Island. The goal is to share our passion with others, to think outside the square, and make the switch to natural, non-toxic products and Cut the Crap out of their lives.

Head over to the Cut the Crap website to see their full range of natural products, and follow their journey on Facebook and Instagram
