Background on Zoe and Carly
At home, both Zoe and Carly are kept busy by their young families and all the demands that brings. Zoe is mum to three children: Evie (8), Maisie (5) and Alfie (3). Carly is mum to Audrey (3).
Prior to starting Audrey & Alfie, Zoe has enjoyed a successful career as a qualified dietitian, working in hospital, community and public health roles. Carly has enjoyed a successful career as a child & family wellbeing policy specialist, working in both government and non-government organisations, leading national initiatives and policy reforms.
Carly and Zoe have now come full circle from their own childhood, seeing their children play together and sharing both the joys and challenges of parenthood.
Caring for the environment
These childhood friends also share a passion for their environment, which led them to create products which minimise negative environmental impacts and ‘give back’ in some way. They made conscious choices to minimise packaging, use compostable or recyclable packaging wherever possible, and support low food miles by sourcing local ingredients, and maintaining a local manufacturing and distribution network. They also decided to feature endangered native wildlife on their packaging to help raise awareness about these unique and wonderful animals, with fun facts and information about their conservation status on their website.
