Transformational Health & Fitness for Mums

The innovation: What was the biggest breakthrough for you with your business?

Starting to look at the overall wellness, not just providing training and meal plans, has definitely been the biggest breakthrough. It is amazing how much we can affect our wellness habits with just some simple mindset shifts. Behind any sustainable lifestyle change is modifying how you see and feel things and this is exactly what I want people to achieve doing my programmes. Another breakthrough was becoming a mom. I found giving birth the most empowering experience I’ve had in my life; however, what came after was a struggle, but I held on to that feeling of empowerment and wanted to create a way to feel that way again.

Finding my passion by helping moms has given me just that and I want to spread that feeling of empowerment to as many moms as possible. You can really have it all. Being a mom is like having a superpower and I want every mom to feel the same. We already have that superpower – we just need to find a way to use it!

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

Same way that I teach the moms I am coaching: I make sure that I take some time for myself every day and take care of my wellness, so that the hours I work on my business are as productive as possible. This enables me to commit my evenings/weekends to my family, most of the time. I mean it’s all a process. That’s something we need to understand that once you get into a routine, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have better and worse weeks and that’s OK. It’s progress not perfection. Just like with your kids, your wellness routine or work schedule won’t look the same every time. What really is different now is that I ask myself every day what I need that day and truly listen to my body to sense how I’m feeling. This helps me to balance which days I can work harder with my business and when I just need to do something different to get my creative juices flowing or simply spend time with the family.

The drive: What challenges have you overcome?

Challenges, well there have been a lot of those. I think every entrepreneur can vouch for that one, but I must say probably the biggest one has been getting comfortable in front of the camera. My business demands me talking to the camera constantly day in, day out and I found that very difficult at the beginning. Again, a lot of mindset work had to be done for this to get where I am – with an app filled with videos of me! This is just proof that with action and mindset work anything can be achieved. I could go on about challenges all day, but I can admit that I love a challenge and I am very rarely one to back down from something I have decided. Just ask my parents about when I decided to leave my successful coaching business in Finland to pursue a coaching career in the UK. Just putting that on paper makes me realise why my little toddler is the most headstrong little dude that I know.

For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?

There is never enough time in the day to do all the things I would like to, but there is also free time when I want and need it, which is great when you have kids.

But by far the best thing is that I get to take my business in the direction I want to and I get to do what I am so passionate about. Coaching people energises me, so after every coaching call, I feel very productive. Although, there are also downsides there, since it still feels very difficult not to be available at all times, because I really do want to help them in the best possible way. I am not a fan of the paperwork side of the business either, but like anything in life, the more you do it, the better you get. We normally don’t like the things we are not good at, right?

Hopes and dreams: What next?

I have just setup a Facebook Community – RadiantFit Coaching, where I will be sharing weekly tips on how to live a healthier, more energetic life while juggling the ever-demanding job of a mom. In this group, we will also start a FREE weekly workout session followed by a coffee morning, so that you can connect with more moms and have fun working out from the comfort of your home! Feel free to bring your kids with you to the sessions! I am also just setting up my podcast which will be kicking off later this year. There is so many plans for my business that I am just bringing to life, and you can follow all of them and get involved in the free sessions inside the Facebook community or follow me on Instagram
