The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
I have overcome a number of challenges: self-doubt, postnatal depression, anxiety. These are challenges that a lot of people deal with and they have definitely held me back. It has meant that I move a bit slower than I would like. I started this business in 2011 and I put the brakes on a few times to take care of myself.
For better or worse: What are the pros and cons of running your own business?
One pro and con is making all the decisions yourself! The absolute freedom can be overwhelming at times. Another pro is the people I have met and connected with because of what I do. A con is only being able to work when the kids are asleep.
Hopes and dreams: What next?
I see hopefully more of the same in the future! I have so many ideas that I can’t wait to try. I just finished teaching a four-week screen printing course at my son’s preschool and it was so much fun. I would love to share my passion for creating with more kiddies and inspire them to try something new.
